This gadget lets you set a countdown timer for any event, say a birthday, a holiday or a deadline. It will then count down showing you how many days, hours, minutes and seconds is left.

This clock gadget is a tremendous mood therapy aid. When I look at the snow and slop outside all I have to do is look at the upper right corner of my monitor and I feel reassured seeing the days hours and seconds until the first preseason baseball game. Makes me realize the world is a pretty good place after all.

Am I losing my mind?
The instructions on the site say:
“install the gadget by double clicking the file that was downloaded. The gadget will now appear on your desktop.”
The “file that was downloaded” is a zip file containing css, images and html/xml files, none of which install a desktop gadget like it says. What gives?

This will install several other tool bars and apps that will wreak havoc with some search sites. It loads a program called SweetPack that takes over certain website search bars – if you use PubMed for example, you will not any longer. Installed after 2 frustrating days.
