GMail Reader
![]()
The GMail Reader is a windows 7 gadget that connects to Google Mail’s servers and authenticates with your account using the Google Accounts API. Every now and then it requests the latest 20 mails from your account, notifying you with a sound if any new emails have arrived.
Clicking on a mail takes you conveniently to gmail.com. This gadget is essential in order to have a complete sidebar! (Unless you’re not using gmail of course.)
You can easily customize the sound that’s being played by replacing the notify.wav file located in
System_Volume\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gmail.Gadget\
